Mondays and Tuesdays aren't all dead

If you’re visiting the Berkshires for business travel, boarding-school visits, or a quiet early-week getaway, you may discover that many Great Barrington restaurants close on Mondays and Tuesdays. Local favorites like No Comply Foods, Hilltown Hot Pies, and Roberto’s Pizza take well-earned days off—as do many of the Berkshires’ most popular dining spots.

But don’t worry—you can still find great food early in the week. Below are some of the best restaurants in Great Barrington that are open on Mondays and Tuesdays, all within a short drive from Wilder House Berkshires.

Number Ten — Open Seven Days a Week

10 minutes from Wilder House | Steakhouse | Great Barrington, MA

If you’re craving a high-quality meal in downtown Great Barrington, Number Ten is a standout. This locally owned steakhouse offers a vintage tavern vibe, a full bar, and some of the best steaks in the South Berkshires.

Grab a seat at the antique mahogany bar, slip into a cozy booth made from reclaimed church pews, or enjoy the views from their windowed tables. Number Ten sources grass-raised, antibiotic- and hormone-free ingredients and features seasonal produce from top suppliers.

Don’t skip the chocolate mousse for dessert—it’s legendary.

Agaves — Open Seven Days a Week

15 minutes from Wilder House | Mexican Restaurant | Great Barrington, MA

If you’re searching for Mexican food in Great Barrington on a Monday or Tuesday, Agaves is a reliable and delicious choice. The bright, modern dining room serves excellent margaritas, Al Pastor tacos, and homemade molé.

It’s a popular spot, but thanks to the fast kitchen and friendly staff, the wait is usually short—even on busy nights.

Koi — Open Seven Days a Week

15 minutes from Wilder House | Chinese Food | Great Barrington, MA

For comforting, flavorful Chinese food in Great Barrington, Koi is a consistent favorite. Located minutes from Ski Butternut, it features a warm dining room, a full bar, and a large menu of classic Chinese dishes.

We love the Moo Shu Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, and General Tso’s Chicken, but you really can’t go wrong here. Whether you dine in or carry out, it's a perfect stop after a weekday on the slopes.

Bizen Sushi — Open Seven Days a Week

10 minutes from Wilder House | Sushi & Japanese Cuisine | Downtown Great Barrington

If sushi is on your mind, Bizen delivers one of the most unique dining experiences in the Berkshires. Located on Railroad Street, in downtown GB, it offers a semi-traditional Japanese dining room, including private floor-seating booths.

The menu is extensive—sashimi, sushi rolls, teriyaki, noodle soups, and more—making it a great spot to enjoy downtown Great Barrington with a hot cup of tea or a cold Sapporo.

Wilder House is a perfect early-week getaway

While these are some of our favorites, other options are available depending on the season. Always call ahead—hours of operation in the Berkshires can change based on staffing, weather, and the time of year.

Whatever your plans are, Wilder House Berkshires is the perfect cozy and convenient place to stay during your visit. We look forward to hosting your next trip to the South Berkshires!

With so many fantastic restaurants around, it can be tough to choose, especially if you're just here for a quick weekend getaway. But don't you worry, we've got you covered! Here are some of our absolute favorite spots that you simply can't miss in the southern Berkshires. No Comply Foods - Great Barrington (Just 10 minutes from Wilder House) Prepare your taste buds for a treat at No Comply ! This casual spot in Great Barrington might feel laid-back with it's punk rock and vintage skateboard art, but its food packs a seriously big punch. Chef Steve Browning's menu is always a delightful surprise, constantly changing and always amazing. With unique flavors from around the world, No Comply is our go-to for dishes that expand your palate and leave you wanting more! Blackberry River Bistro - Canaan, CT (A quick 7 minutes from Wilder House) Tucked away on a corner in Canaan, Connecticut, you'll find the charming Blackberry River Bistro . This tiny gem, with just seven or eight tables, is run entirely by the amazing husband-and-wife team of Audrey and Sam Leary. While it's small, this bistro truly punches above its weight in food quality. We especially adore Audrey's incredible desserts and their always-changing pasta of the week! Roberto’s Pizza - Sheffield (Walking Distance from Wilder House) Ah, pizza! While the Berkshires boast many great pizzerias, Roberto's Pizza in Sheffield wins on both food and vibes. The fact that it's just a short stroll from Wilder House is a huge bonus! And with their fantastic new pub, we know you'll love enjoying cocktails and beers in their hip, modern setting. Plus, it’s super easy to grab carry-out and savor a delicious pizza in one of Wilder House's cozy dining areas. H illtown Hotpies (Egremont, 12 minutes from Wilder House What started as a food truck during COVID has turned into a regionally celebrated brick and mortar restaurant in Egremont. Don't be fooled by the name - there's so much more to Hilltown than Pizza. With a menu of food inspired by southern italy including fresh pastas and antipasti, and wine imported from some of the best vineyards in Italy, chef Raffi Bidner provides and unforgettable experience. Juju’s - Great Barrington (Another 10-minute drive from Wilder House) For a fantastic lunch in Great Barrington, you simply can't beat the crunchy goodness of Juju's ! This locally owned popcorn chicken quick-service spot is a delight. With amazing wraps, fresh chicken salads, and creamy soft-serve ice cream, it's a fun place for the whole family and people of all ages. Plus, it's right in the same complex as the Triplex Cinema, so it's the perfect stop before your next movie! The Well - Great Barrington (10 minutes from Wilder House) Hidden down a set of stairs on main street in Great Barrington is the Well, a cozy but metropolitan feeling American restaurant and bar that punches above its weight class in food. We love the Po'boy, Philly Cheesesteak, and incredible burgers. We also love their fun and friendly staff! No. 10 - Great Barrington (Just 10 minutes from Wilder House) No. 10 in Great Barrington is another exceptional upscale steakhouse that consistently delivers incredible food. A guest once told me No. 10 is the best restaurant in America, and I'd say it's certainly in the running! If you're celebrating a major milestone or simply enjoying a romantic weekend, make sure you add No. 10 to your must-visit list. It also has the rare added benefit of being open seven days a week, which is a real gem in our region! Say hi to Jon at the bar (he's a friend of mine!)
